Abhishek in Shravan Month

During the sacred month of Shravan, devotees offer Abhishek to Lord Shiva as an expression of deep devotion and spiritual purification. This holy ritual involves bathing the Shiva Lingam with water, milk, ghee, honey, bilva leaves, and other sacred offerings.

Each element used in Abhishek signifies purity, surrender, and gratitude, while the continuous chanting of mantras creates a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Mondays (Shravan Somvars) are considered especially auspicious, and thousands of devotees observe fasts and perform Abhishek to seek divine blessings.
